The mystery of the Phlinx is beckoning you. In this match 3 puzzle game, the darkest secrets of the "Pharaoh" and "The Sphinx" are revealed as you unmask the captured hieroglyphs in each puzzle. Use your powerful "Sun Disk" to shoot colored stones into the mystic playing field. Match 3 of the same colored stones and they'll disappear. Find and release the special Power Stones to earn helpful power-ups! Once the progress meter reaches the top—the nighttime stage begins, the colored stones turn color and the hieroglyph is revealed. Match groups of 3 of the nighttime stones to release the hieroglyph.
Your score is determined by the number of stones you can match and get to drop to the ground. Free the four captured glyphs and win the game!

The object of Phlinx is to create groups of 3 or more matching sones and make them disappear. Free the four captured glyphs and win the puzzle game!

Gameplay consists mostly of using your sun disk to shoot stones into the playing field. To aim your sun disk, just move your mouse around in the playing field. You'll see that the sun disk rotates to follow your cursor, and an aiming line shows you where your shot will land. Once you are satisfied with your aim, click the left mouse button to fire!

If you're having trouble finding a good shot, you can also move your disk to any of the three different platforms you see at the bottom of the screen. To move to a different platform, either left-click on the platform or use the space bar to rotate between platforms.

Once you have launched a stone, it will travel in a straight line, bouncing off the pillars on the sides, until it hits another stone in the playing field. The stone will join the rest of the playing field at the point where it landed. If that stone becomes part of a group of 3 or more stones of the same color, they'll disappear.

If, after these stones disappear, there are other stones disconnected from the rest of the playing field, they'll fall to the ground. These stones then make their way down the ramp and knock the progress meter closer and closer to its goal at the top of the pillar. It's by releasing these stones, not just making matches, that you earn tokens and win the game.

Your sun disk contains two stones. The larger stone in front is the one you currently have loaded. The smaller stone in back indicates the next color that will be loaded into your sun disk.

As you make shots, new rows will be added to the playing field. These new rows will be added based on the number of shots you make, not the amount of time you take. So feel free to take your time between shots to aim, chat, read a short romance novel, or bake a batch of chocolate-chip cookies for your favorite game developers (Cough cough.) The rows won't advance during that time.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you enjoy a game of Phlinx the free online puzzle game!

Don't forget you can bounce stones off the side pillars. This will help you make matches higher up in the playing field so you can drop lots of stones. It helps you a lot in the nighttime stage.

If you're having trouble lining up a shot, don't forget that (in the daytime) you can move your sun disk to different platforms. You can line up better shots that way.

Remember that making lots of stones fall is the key to winning, not just making matches.

At the end of every round, we provide you with a helpful hint. Be sure to read those.

Phlinx • Negative Posts and Complaints about Pogo on the Forums

Due to the many current issues affecting members game play the Pogo Forums are receiving a lot of negative and unconstructive feedback. We are aware of the issues largely related to those unhappy with Embedded Game Pages (EGP), whether it be the design/lack of Pop-ups, or Games loading slowly, not able to continue after one game, or simply not loading at all. We are researching those issues and hope to have solutions in the coming weeks.

Because of the many current, common, and overly repeated complaints, and threats of unsubscribing we are simply going to remove or consolidate such posts as they simply are over burdening our Forum’s community in general. I would like to be clear, we are not ignoring these complaints and the issues that are triggering them. We are simply trying to maintain the forums as a relatively peaceful place where members can communicate in a positive and constructive manner.

Our Mods are here trying to help. If they remove a post it is because they are following Pogo’s and EA’s guidelines. If they feel for any reason that a post is negative or may incite negative responses they are well within their given powers to remove such a post.

We know a lot of our members, Free and Club, have been having various ongoing and continuous issues with using our site for the last several weeks and month. We are working hard to try and narrow down the causes of these wide ranging problems.

The Game Loading and not being able to continue after playing a game are two of the largest issues that we are researching right now. We have been working directly with a few members to try and narrow down the symptoms and possible resolutions.

We have found a few things so far that are preventing players from normal game play, including certain browser add-ons and security settings. In many cases simply resetting the browser to its default settings and disabling add-ons that are not necessary for playing our games will resolve the problem.

We are still gathering information and as we do so, we will try to figure out if there are any adjustments we can make on our end so that these settings and add-ons do not interfere with people’s ability to play on Pogo. In some cases we may need to provide our users with more details on how they can make adjustments on their end so that they can continue playing. More details and information will be provided as they become more solid.

In addition to that, we also continue to look into the issues with Pop-up Game Windows, not being able to purchase Gems, various abuse issues, as well as new and old bugs.

We understand that these last few months with changes to our site, games, and EA Support have been very trying and we are indeed working to improve the experience for our fans. We greatly appreciate your patience.

HI ALL, I HATE POGO ANYMORE, CAN'T LOAD GAMES, THEY DONT ANSWER YOU WHEN YOU WRITE. WHY DID THEY CHANGE? THE GAMES WERE JUST FINE BEFORE. I PAY TO PLAY . I PAY BUT CAN'T PLAY HALF THE GAMES. WITH ALL THESE COMPLAINTS YOU THINK THEY WOULD GO BACK TO THE WAY THEY WERE. I JUST MIGHT QUIT. GOING TO HAVE TO FIND SOME OTHER SITE.ERRORS ALL THE TIME. REALLY BAD.DID SOME BODY NEW TAKE OVER? WHO EVER THOUGHT OF THIS NEW WAY DOES NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Thanks I am going to try it. I hate the new format too. I hate the embedded games too, i might have to check out other sites.
I just changed my flag to UK and it works, now I have the old format.

I can get in and play the game , only problen is it won't give me any credit and I have to keep going to the home page and start all over again this is my 4th try and that ia going to be my last,I am going to go under the un flag, they say they don't have these problems. only thing will have to come back udder us flag to do flash games

They happened on my old desktop and still do on new computer, and they even happen for me on Facebook. It isn't all of the time though. Just once in a while I go to switch a gem for my saved powerup and just when I think I'm going to smash through the stones the powerup turns to an ordinary stone. And I've already had a "color" powerup saved when a "breaking" powerup comes into play, so I'll switch positions so I can use the color one and save the breaking one for later, only to have the breaking one turn into a color powerup instead.

I've also had the same problem where I can't always switch which platform I want to shoot from. Like you said, you can sometimes click on an outer edge and it will work. Well today the middle one wouldn't work at all. I ended up cleaning IE cache and logged back in and it was fine again.

So it's not a MAJOR complaint...not where I'm going to threaten canceling my membership over...but more of an inconvenience where I have to empty cache every so many games. At least I can play though no problem and it doesn't freeze. I'll just keep emptying the trash from time to time if I want to play (which isn't too often anymore...other games I like much better). :)

GREAT IDEA ... until Pogo decides to hose the UK side.

Just was told of a workaround:

Sign out of pogo. then when you sign back in, up at the top of the page there are flags: US/Canada and UK etc. Click on the UK flag before you sign in and you will go back to the old format!!!!

Yes, just cancelled my renewal. I've been here since '01, but for all the reasons mentioned here, it's time to go.

I also don't like the "embedded games" and how it brings up "friends" profile pics, shows them your score...maybe I don't want to share my score or the fact that I'm on here...

Not what it used to be. There are also a lot of free online games now, that are multiplayer... You would think due to the growing competition Pogo would listen to members. oh well, nice knowing ya's. gl.

These embedded games, total lack of Customer Service, and failure to provide "renewal rewards" are pure horse's manure (wih apologes to horses).

Yes, immediately remove your credit/debit card info and do NOT install that Pogo toolbar. Remember -- Pogo now has a close relationshp with Facebook.

My suggestion to everyone: FILE A BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU REPORT. We are paying membersand Pogo is not fulfilling "contract' (subscription) obligations.

pogo fixed it and now it doesn't work. And they are not listening to the complaints, so i went into my account and took off my credit card numbers so it can not auto renew. IF you decide toi di that also , make sure you click on the save or your credit number is not taken off even if you think it is .

go to your account. delete your credit card numbers and MAKE sure you click save, or your credit numbers will not go off even if you do not see them at first. JUST make sure you click sace. I did and a lot of others say they have. This is the only way to get through to them. $$$$$$$
