Match Tiles via Connecting Line
In the Mahjong Safari puzzle game, your goal is to match tiles with a connecting line that has two or fewer turns. The farther apart the tiles, the higher your score. For the highest possible score, create combos by matching tiles quickly one after another.

Look for Special Tiles
  • Four Stars - There are four, special Star tiles in each puzzle game. Match those to earn one of the three power ups available in Mahjong Safari.
  • Mini-Animals - These are the only tiles that don't have identical matches. Match the two halves of the same animal to earn a mini-animal on the left side of the screen. Collect ten and you win a spin.

3 Unique Power Ups to Earn
  • Shuffle Power Up - The Shuffle Power Up allows you to mix up all the tiles when you get stuck.
  • Long Line Power Up - The Long Line Power Up allows you to match two tiles with more than two turns.
  • Hint Power Up - Earn the Hint Power Up and get a hint about an available match.

Track Your Progress
In the lower left part of the screen, you will notice two numbers:
  • Tiles
  • Available Matches
These are useful to notice throughout the game so you can track your progress and know how many matches are available.

There are lots of ways to earn tokens in Mahjong Safari! Here are some tips to keep in mind:

The higher your Score, the more tokens you earn in this puzzle game. For every 100 points, you earn 1 token. Get a high score by matching tiles that are long distances away, and by making long Combos.

The higher your Score, the more tokens you earn. For every 100 points, you earn 1 token.

At the end of each successful puzzle game, you get a game complete bonus. Harder difficulties award more tokens since they take longer to complete.

If you complete a game and still have some powerups left over, you'll earn 10 bonus tokens per powerup.

At the end of a successful game that you completed quickly, you earn a Time Bonus.

During the puzzle game, if you make an animal-specific combo, you'll earn an extra 30 tokens per animal combo. For instance, match two pandas, then quickly match two pandas again, and you'll earn a Panda combo.

If you complete a safari by collecting 10-mini animals, you'll get a bonus of 100 tokens (and Pogo will give 100 tokens to someone else in the room.) Those tokens are awarded instantly, not at the end of the game! You will also win a spin, which may award some tokens.

If you're playing in a room with other people, when they complete a safari, you will once in a while get a bonus gift of 100 tokens for their efforts! Those tokens are awarded instantly, not at the end of the game! In most cases, only active players will receive gifts, so staying in a room without playing won't earn you tokens.

Let me make a suggestion Pogo - treat your pay in advance Club Pogo Members better than those that don't pay or you will lose many long-standing Club Pogo members. It is bad enough that you only care about IPhone users enough that you messed up the games for us that use computers - but this server being unavailable constitutes fraud. I paid and should be able to play.
If I am not on in next 5 minutes I will file a report with the proper authorities and notify my credit card company of above.

Tonight is the first time I have EVER had trouble with this game. It keeps freezing up and in between rounds, it just sits there forever and does nothing. Finally it will start moving again, but very very slow.

This has been happening to me although I find sometimes if I wait about 30 seconds after finishing a game if I hit "New Game" it will reload.

Mahjong Safari • Negative Posts and Complaints about Pogo on the Forums

Due to the many current issues affecting members game play the Pogo Forums are receiving a lot of negative and unconstructive feedback. We are aware of the issues largely related to those unhappy with Embedded Game Pages (EGP), whether it be the design/lack of Pop-ups, or Games loading slowly, not able to continue after one game, or simply not loading at all. We are researching those issues and hope to have solutions in the coming weeks.

Because of the many current, common, and overly repeated complaints, and threats of unsubscribing we are simply going to remove or consolidate such posts as they simply are over burdening our Forum’s community in general. I would like to be clear, we are not ignoring these complaints and the issues that are triggering them. We are simply trying to maintain the forums as a relatively peaceful place where members can communicate in a positive and constructive manner.

Our Mods are here trying to help. If they remove a post it is because they are following Pogo’s and EA’s guidelines. If they feel for any reason that a post is negative or may incite negative responses they are well within their given powers to remove such a post.

When you finish a game you use to be able to click on new game and it would start again. Now you can not hit New Game is this happening to others? Is someone looking into this?

We know a lot of our members, Free and Club, have been having various ongoing and continuous issues with using our site for the last several weeks and month. We are working hard to try and narrow down the causes of these wide ranging problems.

The Game Loading and not being able to continue after playing a game are two of the largest issues that we are researching right now. We have been working directly with a few members to try and narrow down the symptoms and possible resolutions.

We have found a few things so far that are preventing players from normal game play, including certain browser add-ons and security settings. In many cases simply resetting the browser to its default settings and disabling add-ons that are not necessary for playing our games will resolve the problem.

We are still gathering information and as we do so, we will try to figure out if there are any adjustments we can make on our end so that these settings and add-ons do not interfere with people’s ability to play on Pogo. In some cases we may need to provide our users with more details on how they can make adjustments on their end so that they can continue playing. More details and information will be provided as they become more solid.

In addition to that, we also continue to look into the issues with Pop-up Game Windows, not being able to purchase Gems, various abuse issues, as well as new and old bugs.

We understand that these last few months with changes to our site, games, and EA Support have been very trying and we are indeed working to improve the experience for our fans. We greatly appreciate your patience.

Mahjong Safari • Embedded Games Do Not Play Correctly

I also am like the hundreds of other long-time Club Pogo members - tired of the disaster of the embedded games and all the work, time, frustration that is caused by them. The same goes for the Adobe Flashplayer format. I have tried every browser there is and now the latest is it comes up "site is not secure" " site is not https// do you want to proceed". I just took all my credit card information off this site because of those warnings from Google Chrome, IE, and Microsoft. The lag time between finishing a game and getting to play another game in here is over 35 seconds. Sorry Pogo, but my time is too valuable to waste playing on a site I pay to have all these problems. I will not be renewing my 8 plus years membership like the thousands of other disatisifed players. We were not warned that Pogo was going to do this so that before we gave them our money we could make an informed decision. Sounds like fraud or a scam to me.

Sorry, you are wrong. You only have to do this once - match four of the same animal (2 pairs in a row). It worked for me.

To get the Mahjong Safari challenge, you must make a 4 tile match of one animal, then quickly make a 4 tile match of a different animal. For example, match 4 crabs at once, then match 4 polar bears at once. You must make these matches back to back, so 8 tiles in all, using 2 different animals. I did this and got my tokens.

Like you I am sick to death of this game --- Got the double animal now over 8 times today and no credit from Pogo. Am so sick of the way we are being treated and our complaints being ignored. Been with Pogo for over 8 years and this will be my last. They still have not fixed Naga Dragon after I don't know how many complaints and 5 months.

Martian56 - the pogo screens do not scale correctly when you have 1) presuming you're using Internet Explorer, your explorer window may be set to a different view ratio, or 2) your display settings on your desktop are set at something other than supported by pogo. For the first issue, you can close your Pogo windows, and in your explorerer window, click on View, click on zoom, then make sure it's set at 100%, for the second issue, that's a little tougher, you can go to your desktop and depending on what version of windows your using, play around with the resolution size. No guarantees are implied or warranted... Just suggestions :-)
